How To Post An Image On Message Boards
By Sith Penguin
There are quite a few message boards and forums online that offer their members the option to upload a photo in their post. However, many boards do not supply an image uploading button, forcing members to seek out other ways to add images. The most basic way to do this would be to use the [IMG][/IMG] brackets. Simply find the url of the image you want to add to your post, and place it in between the brackets like so: .
By using this code, the image link would appear as your picture after you published or previewed your post (Note that this code will only work for forums and message boards; sites such as HubPages require a different kind of image code).
If you want to upload a photo from your own computer, you would first have to upload it to a photo hosting site. Popular sites include Photobucket, which allows you to upload numerous photos with a registered account, and ImageShack, which allows for quick, one time uploads.
Certain message boards and forums do not allow images to be uploaded or require members to reach a certain posting minimum before granting them the privlege to add photos to their posts. In addition, many message boards prohibit images that are deemed to be NSFW (Not Safe For Work). Basically, if it is something you could get in trouble for at work, it is probably too offensive to post on a public message board. The rules for every message board are different, so it would be best to read them over or ask an administrator before posting images.
